I had back to back auditions this week for Netflix's "Friends from College" and a Con Edison Chinese radio voiceover and it made me feel like a real New York actor (as opposed to a fake Chinese knockoff).
The voiceover audition went well because it is always a white guy doing the recording and he has no idea what I am saying. I just shout things into a microphone and he gives me looks of approval.
The Netflix audition had me pretending to sit on a couch watching sports and drinking beer. I did one take and she liked it so she told me to do one where I was playing video games instead. I think I got too caught up in trying to pretend to play the video game because I messed up my lines. I am hoping to play the race card on this one. I wore my glasses to look extra Asian.
Friend of a Friend (All Ethnicities).
The role of Charlie's Friend was calling for a 40 year old guy (all ethnicities) who enjoys drinking beer and watching sports so I wore my Aaron Judge Yankee tee shirt. As I was leaving, I spotted a fat white dude wearing a Yankees windbreaker. Are we auditioning for the same role?
My $200 Card.
After I pay my union dues, they send me a new SAG card ever year that sits in my wallet for a week before I realize how useless it is. I brought it to set with me hoping someone would ask me for it just so I could justify keeping it in my wallet. No one did so now it is going into my kid's collection of cards in her fake wallet.
I asked the Production Assistant when he thinks the episode of "Ray Donovan" will be airing and he guestimated that it would be around X-Mas. That means I get to milk it all the way until winter because I have a feeling that I might not be a big part of the final edited scene when it airs.
It's Showtime!
Whenever I mention to someone that I was on the "Ray Donovan," the first thing they ask is, "Is it on Netflix?"
I usually reply, "No, but you can watch it off the free bootleg movie site solarmovies.co."
A Selfie is Worth 1,000 Words
Whenever I mention that I worked with Jon Voight, old people ask, "Did you get his autograph?"
Wall of Fame.
I made it onto my agent's wall with my Jon Voight selfie!
SIDENOTE: I have no idea what she looks like and I have know her for almost twenty years
when you go to a Yankee game with a friend and he has to leave early (6th inning). Should I sit there by myself or leave with him?

The best part about having Monday off is that you get to watch your Sunday night shows and it will feel like Saturday
